The countdown is officially on, with just one month remaining until the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 kicks off on 27 September. The tournament will bring together the top 24 youth national teams from around the globe for what promises to be an exciting showcase of future football stars.
This year marks the 24th edition of FIFA’s prestigious youth competition, which has long served as a launchpad for some of football's greatest names. Since the inaugural tournament in Tunisia in 1977, the U-20 World Cup has produced talents such as Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Luis Figo, Andrés Iniesta, Kaká, Luis Suárez, and Antoine Griezmann.
The 2025 edition will take place across four Chilean cities: Santiago, Rancagua, Valparaíso, and Talca, from 27 September to 19 October.
Africa will be represented by Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, and South Africa as they aim to make a mark on the world stage. Ghana remains the only African nation to have lifted the trophy, following their historic triumph in 2009.
As excitement builds, fans and scouts alike will be watching closely to see which young talents rise to prominence and potentially become the next global superstars.
