C-Quansah Foundation Commissions Borehole to End Water Crisis in Abowinim

 

The C-Quansah Foundation has commissioned a mechanized borehole for residents of Abowinim, a community in the Cape Coast Metropolis, to alleviate a long-standing water crisis that has troubled locals for years.

The project, initiated and led by Lawyer and Presidential Staffer, Mr. Charles Quansah, was officially inaugurated on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the Taimesase Electoral Area. For many residents, the borehole represents an end to the daily ordeal of fetching water from unsafe sources several kilometres away.

“Water is life, and this is my way of giving back to a community that has endured years of hardship,” Mr. Quansah said during the commissioning ceremony. Reflecting on his own experiences growing up in Ntsin, he shared that the initiative was inspired by empathy and a desire to ease the suffering of women and children. “This project seeks to reduce the burden on our sisters, mothers, and children who spend countless hours searching for water,” he added.

Mr. Quansah further emphasized that the foundation’s mission extends beyond providing access to clean water. “Our focus is not just on water,” he noted. “We are also committed to empowering the youth through job creation and educational programs.”

He expressed appreciation for the persistence of Mr. Henry Johnson White, the local NDC Electoral Area Coordinator, whose consistent appeals contributed significantly to the project’s realization. “At times, I felt disturbed by his constant calls,” Mr. Quansah said jokingly, “but it was all for a good cause. I truly thank him for his dedication.”

Mr. White, in his remarks, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the foundation, describing the borehole as a life-changing development for the people of Abowinim. “I am elated by this honour done to my people,” he said, invoking divine blessings upon Mr. Quansah and the foundation for their generosity.

Also present at the event was Mr. Korankye Taylor, the NDC Cape Coast South Chairperson, who praised Mr. Quansah’s commitment to community development. “I am here to support a good cause for the growth of Cape Coast,” he stated. “Regardless of political affiliations or criticisms, I will always stand by initiatives that enhance the lives of our people.”

The newly commissioned Abowinim borehole is the third of thirteen mechanized boreholes planned by the C-Quansah Foundation for various communities across the Cape Coast area. Residents have welcomed the intervention with great joy and optimism, hopeful that the foundation will continue fulfilling its promise to expand access to safe drinking water.
