Agya Koo Responds Strongly to LilWin’s ‘King of Kumawood’ Claim

Veteran Kumawood actor Agya Koo has responded sharply to recent comments by fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, who claimed in a media interview that he has "unseated" Agya Koo as the reigning figure in Ghana’s Kumawood movie industry.

LilWin’s remarks, which have garnered significant attention online, included his assertion that he is now the “King of Movies” in Ghana. He also suggested that Agya Koo had exited the film scene, shifting his focus to podcasting and live band performances.

In a swift rebuttal posted on X (formerly Twitter), Agya Koo refuted the claims and criticized LilWin for seeking validation outside Ghana rather than solidifying his presence locally.

“I’ve transitioned to live band and I’m loving it,” Agya Koo stated. “You’re also making music, and I’m proud to have inspired many actors and actresses, including you. Just that you make noise on beat like one Bantama kwenkwen seller.”

He further questioned LilWin’s self-declared status:
“You claim your time is now? Nigerian movies weren’t even accepted in Ghana during my era, yet my films were everywhere. You’re chasing recognition in Nigeria and calling yourself king? Keep pushing your craft, but stop the noise, Actor Kwame.”

In a series of follow-up posts, Agya Koo did not hold back.
“Discipline means doing the right thing even when you're tired or don’t feel like it,” he wrote, adding a goat emoji—often interpreted as a reference to the "Greatest of All Time" (G.O.A.T).

Mocking LilWin's attitude, he continued:
“Lol. He’s throwing subliminals and acting like he has it all? Money isn’t everything. I’ve never needed his help or approval—so why is he trying to prove himself now? Akoa wei paa.”

Agya Koo concluded with a confident statement about his lasting impact:
“I’ve built a legacy that’ll outlive him—350 years?”

However, by Wednesday, the actor returned to social media with a more conciliatory tone, issuing an apology for his earlier comments.

“I’m sorry for my actions yesterday,” he wrote. “I just had to put my schoolboy in his place, and I think now he’s learned something. No hard feelings.”

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025.
