Mohamed Salah Celebrates 250th Liverpool Goal: “It’s a Great Feeling”

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has expressed his delight after scoring his 250th goal for the club, helping the Premier League champions end their losing streak with a 2–0 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday.

The Egyptian star reached the milestone just before half-time, capitalizing on a misplaced pass from Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez to slot home a clinical finish. Though it was one of Salah’s simplest goals, its significance made it an unforgettable moment in his illustrious Liverpool career.

“It’s a great feeling to score goals for such a big club. It’s something I don’t take for granted,” Salah said after the match. “I’m so proud and happy about that achievement.”

Salah’s strike was crucial for Liverpool, who had endured a tough run of form—losing four consecutive Premier League matches and six of their last seven across all competitions. The result eased pressure on manager Arne Slot and restored some optimism at Anfield.

The 33-year-old’s performances had been under scrutiny following a noticeable dip in form since late last season. His goal against Villa marked only his fifth of the campaign, coming after he was dropped twice by Slot in recent weeks.

“It’s very important,” Salah added. “We’ve had a few losses in the Premier League and Champions League. I’m glad we’re back on track now—it’s a big push before some important games. It’s been a tricky season because we have a few new players who are very good, but they need time to adapt.”

Salah has now scored in consecutive matches, keeping third-placed Liverpool within seven points of leaders Arsenal in the title race.

Looking ahead, Slot will hope the Egyptian’s resurgence continues as Liverpool face a decisive week featuring a Champions League clash against Real Madrid and a Premier League showdown with Manchester City.

“We’ve also lost some key players, and it takes time to understand each other’s games,” Salah concluded. “But everything will be fine.”
