Wendell Yeboah, Head of Mobilization for Democracy Hub, has been arrested in connection with false allegations he made regarding illegal mining activities.**
Reports indicate that Yeboah's arrest follows comments he made during a recent appearance on Accra-based Aluta FM, where he accused certain government officials of being involved in illegal mining (galamsey).
The arrest comes just days after Yeboah issued an apology to the Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers for making similar allegations against them.
Oliver Barker Vormawor, the leader of Democracy Hub, confirmed the arrest, stating that Yeboah is being detained at the Police Headquarters on the orders of the government. According to Vormawor, the charges stem from Yeboah’s false accusations about the involvement of government appointees in galamsey activities.
