Samini, Efya, Joe Mettle and Ofori Amponsah to Headline 10th EMY Africa Awards

Four of Ghana’s most celebrated music icons—Samini, Efya, Joe Mettle, and Ofori Amponsah—are set to share the same stage on November 22, 2025, as the EMY Africa Awards marks its 10th anniversary.

The milestone ceremony will be held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, where the artists will deliver live performances for a distinguished audience attending this year’s celebration.

Reggae and dancehall star Samini, widely recognised as the “Father of Live Band Music,” is expected to bring his trademark energy and stage mastery. Over the years, he has earned acclaim for proving that a dancehall act can excel with a full live band, setting a standard many others now follow.

Afrobeat and soul vocalist Efya, a familiar face on the EMY stage, continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic vocal range—shifting seamlessly from soft, emotional tones to powerful high notes. Her unique blend of Afrobeat, soul, R&B and Ghanaian rhythms has made her one of the awards’ most memorable performers.

Gospel sensation Joe Mettle will present a refreshed performance this year. Renowned for his stirring worship songs and commanding stage presence, Mettle connects effortlessly with crowds through both movement and message, uplifting audiences with every appearance.

Highlife legend Ofori Amponsah is expected to thrill fans with classics such as “Odo Nti,” “Akua Ataa,” and “Otoolege.” Known for keeping the essence of traditional highlife alive while blending in modern influences, his sound remains both nostalgic and contemporary.

This year marks a decade of EMY Africa’s mission to honour individuals who have made remarkable contributions to leadership, culture, business, the creative arts, public service, sports, and social impact across Africa and the diaspora.

The 10th anniversary edition is presented in partnership with UNESCO, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President, and EY Ghana, further strengthening EMY Africa’s commitment to advancing pan-African excellence and global influence.
