Former President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his strong commitment to infrastructure development in the Oti Region, declaring the completion of the Eastern Corridor Road as a top priority should he return to office.
During a visit to the region on Friday, July 25, Mahama emphasized the national importance of the Eastern Corridor Road, describing it as a vital transport link that supports economic growth and regional integration.
“The Eastern Corridor Road is a strategic national asset, and I am fully committed to ensuring its timely completion,” he said.
Mahama singled out the Nkwanta–Kpassa–Oti Damanko stretch of the road, assuring residents that work on that section would proceed without further delays under his leadership.
Beyond the Eastern Corridor Road, he highlighted several other key road projects that are set to either begin or resume soon in the Oti Region. These include:
- Dambai Bridge
- Okadjakrom–Kwamikrom road
- Abotoase–Atonkor road
- Kpasa–Tinjase road
- Hohoe–Jasikan road
- Hohoe–Baika–Jasikan road
He noted that these projects are at various stages of procurement and that efforts are underway to mobilize resources for their execution.
Mahama also reassured the people of the Oti Region of his commitment to balanced development across all regions of Ghana, stating that under his administration, the region would no longer be overlooked in national infrastructure plans.
