Bright Aweh Roberts, the main suspect in the disappearance and murder of Ghana Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah, made his second court appearance today at the Kwabenya Circuit Court.
What began as a kidnapping investigation has now been reclassified as a murder case, prompting the transfer of proceedings to a higher court due to the serious nature of the charges.
Case Background
Stephen King Amoah, a committed immigration officer, was reported missing for six days before his body was discovered. Police investigations have identified Bright Aweh, a former acquaintance of Amoah, as the alleged perpetrator.
According to police reports, Bright Aweh owed Amoah a significant debt of GHS 200,000. On the night Amoah went missing, Aweh reportedly contacted him around 8:00 PM, asking to meet at Ashongman Estates under the guise of settling the debt. That encounter ultimately led to Amoah’s tragic death.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full details of the incident.
