Middle-Aged Man Fatally Shot in Asawase Days After Kusasi Chief’s Assassination


 

A middle-aged man has been shot and killed in Asawase, a suburb of Kumasi, further heightening concerns about growing insecurity in the area.

A disturbing video circulating on social media shows police personnel removing the victim’s body from the crime scene. The man’s identity, along with that of the assailants, remains unknown at this time.

The tragic shooting occurred just days after the assassination of the Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, who was gunned down outside his residence—also in Asawase. The proximity and timing of these two incidents have sparked fears among residents and renewed calls for enhanced security in the community.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the latest killing, and investigations are currently underway.
