The Sunyani Area Office of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has recovered GH₵14 million in unpaid electricity bills from customers during a two-week revenue mobilization and loss control exercise.
According to Mr. Eugene Odoi Addo, the Area Manager, the operation targeted GH₵20 million in arrears and was part of NEDCo’s broader strategy to improve its financial health and minimize power losses.
Speaking to the media in Sunyani, Mr. Addo described the exercise as successful, noting that significant debts were cleared. He emphasized the company's intent to maintain pressure on defaulters, with similar operations expected later this year.
Mr. Addo urged customers to pay their electricity bills regularly to avoid disconnection and help NEDCo improve service delivery.
