The Interior Ministry of Ghana has announced a revision of curfew hours for Bawku and surrounding areas, based on recommendations from the Upper East Regional Security Council.
🕒 New Curfew Hours: 2:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily
📅 Effective Date: Sunday, July 27, 2025, until further notice
Authorities have urged community leaders and residents to remain calm and resolve issues peacefully. Additionally, a total ban on carrying arms or offensive weapons is in place. Anyone found with weapons will face arrest and prosecution.
This security measure follows reports of targeted killings in the Ashanti Region, including an incident where a student was dragged from his dorm and fatally shot.
