Tabitha Ayila, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) communications team, has sparked controversy with her latest remarks, accusing the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of working against the nation’s progress.
Ayila’s comments followed a court decision that cleared media personality Kevin Taylor of legal troubles, prompting strong reactions from political circles. Speaking in an interview, Ayila expressed her disapproval of the ruling and claimed that the NDC is using its influence to shield certain individuals from accountability.
"I'm not surprised the NDC is quick to defend and free its own, even when they have issues with the law,” she said. “They didn’t come to lead Ghana into progress — they came to destroy, to avenge, and to protect their people regardless of the consequences."
According to Ayila, the NDC is actively undermining the country’s democratic institutions and has no genuine interest in national development. She emphasized that their actions are self-serving and detrimental to Ghana's long-term stability.
“They’re sinking Ghana’s democracy. This isn’t governance — it’s vengeance,” she added.
Her statements have added fuel to ongoing political tensions between the NPP and the NDC as the nation inches closer to the next general elections. As of now, the NDC has not officially responded to Ayila’s accusations.
