The Accra High Court has amended the bail conditions for Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), reducing the amount from GHS120 million to GHS80 million. Meanwhile, his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, remains under a bail condition set at GHS80 million, requiring two sureties whose justification will be assessed.
Both individuals are also mandated to report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) three times a week. In addition, their travel has been restricted, necessitating prior approval from EOCO for any overseas trips.
The couple has been in custody following an investigation by EOCO regarding allegations of embezzlement, fraud, and illicit financial activities. Adu-Boahene, who served as NSB Director-General from 2017 until February 2025, is accused of misappropriating millions of Ghanaian cedis in state funds for personal use.
In response to the court's decision, Samuel Atta Akyea, the legal counsel representing the couple, expressed confidence that his clients would be able to comply with the revised bail terms.
