The Ashanti Regional Police Command has successfully arrested three individuals in connection with the recent robbery and murder of two mobile money (MoMo) vendors. The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to appear in court shortly.
Authorities are actively searching for a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or "Baba Macho." Investigators believe he may be hiding in areas such as Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso, or Accra. The police have urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating Amoah, asking anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to contact them via their toll-free number.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice is served and encourages the community to remain vigilant in helping bring all responsible parties to account.
In a recent update, the police revealed that the first incident occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in the Krofrom area. The victim, Patricia Nimako, was tragically attacked and killed by her assailants, who stole an undisclosed sum of money. The second incident took place on Monday, March 10, 2025, when Gideon Owusu Sarpong, also known as "Junior," was robbed and murdered at his home in Kwadaso.
Following detailed investigations, the police arrested Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also referred to as "Kwame Charles" or "Miami," along with Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42. These arrests were made on March 21, 2025, at the Pankrono and Atimatim areas. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to secure further leads.
