Lagos-based NYSC Corps Member Raye Addresses MTN Data Price Hike and Advocates for Youth Empowerment
Lagos-based National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Raye, has weighed in on the recent MTN data price hike, offering a solution to help Nigerians navigate the increase. MTN's decision to raise their data plan prices has sparked widespread criticism, especially given the ongoing economic struggles faced by many Nigerians.
In a recent video shared online, Raye voiced her concerns about the price hike and encouraged MTN users to submit complaints to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). The corps member also revealed that she had discontinued her MTN Wi-Fi service due to the price increase, emphasizing her commitment to raising awareness about youth empowerment.
“I’m going to lend my voice to empower us as youth. Aside from the rant, I’ve been bombarding the right departments with a lot of emails,” Raye stated, highlighting her proactive approach in addressing the issue.
Raye, who has previously made headlines for her remarks on the NYSC monthly allowance and the economic challenges in Nigeria, has garnered support from various human rights activists and prominent figures. Despite facing backlash for her stance, she defended her actions, stating that as a vlogger and content creator, she is passionate about speaking out for what she believes in.
“I used to be just a regular girl doing content. I can’t turn my back on what I truly care about. If you genuinely care for me, you won’t bash me or push me toward my doom,” she added, challenging those who criticized her efforts to advocate for change.
