Arrest of Two Suspects in Robbery and Assault Case in Ashaiman



The Tema Regional Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the armed robbery and assault of a businessman in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region, on February 26, 2025.

Karim Fatao, one of the suspects, was arrested on the same day as the crime, while Wonder Babanawo, a notorious criminal on the Police's wanted list for multiple robberies across Ashaiman and parts of Tema, was apprehended on March 29, 2025.

A subsequent search of the suspects led to the discovery of several incriminating items, including a Ruger pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, 30 mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material believed to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of land indentures.

Karim Fatao was arraigned before the court on March 3, 2025, and remanded into Police custody. Wonder Babanawo remains in custody and will be brought before the court to face charges in due course.
