Professor Gyampo Claims “Sex for Grades” Allegation Was a Scheme to Block His Running Mate Nomination
Professor Ransford Gyampo has asserted that the “Sex for Grades” allegations levied against him were part of a calculated plot to sabotage his political ambitions, specifically his nomination as a vice-presidential candidate. In an interview with Blakk Rasta on 3FM, monitored by MyNewsGH, Gyampo dismissed the allegations as unfounded, stating there was no evidence to support the claims.
Gyampo firmly rejected the accusations, asking, “You didn’t see me having sex with anyone, and there’s no evidence to back their story. If there was no student, there was no incident. So, what exactly are they talking about?” He further suggested that the scandal was strategically orchestrated to tarnish his reputation at a critical moment in his political career.
According to Gyampo, he was initially selected as a potential running mate, but opposition from certain circles prompted the campaign to discredit him. “Someone close to the person proposing me opposed it. To block my nomination, they created this scandal to cause confusion and make the proposer rethink their choice,” he explained.
Despite the controversy, Gyampo emphasized that he was eventually exonerated through proper legal channels, reinstated at the university, and even promoted. He attributed his continued political success to the unwavering support of his constituents, noting that they voted for him twice in subsequent elections.
While he acknowledged the difficulty of the situation, Gyampo revealed that he has chosen to move forward, focusing on the positive lessons learned rather than dwelling on the past.
