Dr. Stephen Amoah, the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, has expressed his admiration for Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, praising his financial expertise despite their political differences. Speaking on Newsfile on Joy Prime, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator acknowledged Forson’s competence and experience, emphasizing that his praise comes from direct collaboration with him on the Finance Committee of Parliament.
"Ato Forson is a very knowledgeable Finance Minister," Dr. Amoah remarked. "Though I am often criticized for saying this, I have worked closely with him, and I can confidently speak to his expertise."
While commending Forson's skills, Dr. Amoah emphasized that technical competence alone is insufficient for achieving economic progress. He argued that successful economic advancement requires not only knowledge but also effective and strategic execution of policies.
“Competence alone is not enough; it is the strategic implementation of well-planned economic strategies that will drive true progress,” Dr. Amoah stated.
The Nhyiaeso MP further urged politicians to place national interests above party affiliations, calling for a unified approach to managing the economy. He stressed that the well-being of Ghanaians should take precedence over partisan debates and divisions.
“The economy is larger than political parties. We must prioritize the welfare of the people over party lines,” he added.
