Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has emphasized that it is always a privilege and an honor to be called up to represent the national team. The Bournemouth striker shared that he considers it a great privilege to play for Ghana and stated that the only circumstance under which he would fail to honor an invitation is if he is injured.
Semenyo, who was among Ghana's goal scorers during the recent international break, netted a goal in the 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium. With 27 appearances for the Black Stars to his name, the forward highlighted that wearing the national team jersey is something he cherishes deeply.
"It's an honor; I always want to be part of the national team," Semenyo told SuperSport. "The only thing that could ever prevent me from joining the squad is an injury. I always try to make myself available because playing for my country has been a dream of mine since I was young. Whenever I get the chance to represent Ghana, it's a great honor."
After scoring his third goal for Ghana, Semenyo will turn his focus back to club football, aiming to continue his strong performances with Bournemouth, who will face Manchester City in the FA Cup this weekend.
