Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has shared his perspective on the ongoing debate between in-studio collaborations and remote music recording. Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM, which was closely monitored by MyNewsGh, M.anifest expressed a preference for traditional, in-person studio sessions but also acknowledged the undeniable impact of technology on the music industry.
"While being in the studio is preferred, the world has evolved, and we can't be opposed to progress. Technology exists for a reason," M.anifest said. "In some cases, artists can still create at a distance and maintain that same creative synergy."
He highlighted that tools like FaceTime and other digital platforms have revolutionized the way artists collaborate, enabling them to vibe and stay connected even when physically apart. "Some people don't need to be in the same room every day to maintain a connection. The same holds true for music. It's all about synergy—whether you're in the same room or miles apart."
M.anifest also shared his personal experience of working with fellow artists remotely, citing a moment when he sent a song to another musician, Ad. Instead of replying with words, Ad quickly returned a completed verse within just 20 minutes, showcasing the power of creative synergy, regardless of the physical distance between them.
His thoughts reflect the evolving nature of music production, where the need for physical presence is no longer a strict requirement for creating great music together.
