Ghana's Vice President Receives Medical Treatment Following Sudden Illness

Ghana’s Vice President, Her Excellency Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, sought medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after experiencing a sudden illness on Friday, March 28, 2025.

A statement issued by the Presidency Communications on Sunday, March 30, 2025, confirmed that the Vice President was admitted to UGMC on Saturday for treatment following the unforeseen health episode.

The statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, further disclosed that, upon the recommendation of her medical team, the Vice President will seek additional care abroad.

The statement concluded by expressing well wishes for the Vice President’s swift recovery.
