Louisa Kwakye, a member of the NDC Communications Team, has lauded President John Dramani Mahama for his dedication to driving economic recovery in Ghana, emphasizing his commitment to local production and fiscal responsibility.
During an interview on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana, monitored by MyNewsGH, Kwakye highlighted Mahama's proactive approach to restoring the nation's economy. She pointed out that the President is not just speaking about the recovery but actively practicing it by promoting Ghanaian-made products. "One notable aspect of His Excellency's leadership is that he leads by example. At many state events, he is seen wearing made-in-Ghana clothing," she remarked.
Kwakye also commended Mahama's focus on revitalizing local industries. She stressed that the President's fiscal policies are geared toward reinvigorating Ghana's manufacturing sector, with an emphasis on producing and adding value to locally made products. "His efforts are centered on using local production as the key to economic recovery, aiming to reclaim the losses Ghana has suffered over the years," she stated.
In addition to his economic strategies, Kwakye praised Mahama’s commitment to gender equality in governance. She referred to recent appointments, where gender balance was evident, with both men and women sharing the stage. “We are in International Women’s Week, and it is important to note that the President is steadfast in ensuring that 30% of his appointees are women, with plans to further increase this figure," she concluded.
Kwakye's comments underscore the President's ongoing efforts to foster economic growth through local industries and promote gender equity within the nation's governance.
